British Commercial Vehicle Museum ~ K9168 This vehicle exhibited at this museum in Leyland, Lancashire until recently for more than 30 years.

John Donaldson-Hudson also applied for patents for other low-loader vehicles, and details of these will be included at a later date.
Patent application number 463510 was made on the 29th February 1936 and the complete specification was accepted on the 1st April 1937. This related to Improvements in or relating to Trailer Vehicles. An original printed copy of this application was obtained on the 13th May 2010 and can be viewed here (Add Link)
One of these vehicles is shown below in Leeds, in the livery of Edward Box & Co. Ltd.
This low-loader is very similar in design to the Scammell 100 Tonner apart from the front of the low-loader resting on its own bogie.
The original Scammell tractor unit manufactured in 1927 has recently been put on the market by Dean Hudson, the son of the late owner. It had been displayed in the British Commercial Vehicle Museum in Leyland, Lancashire for over 30 years and since it came back to the Hudson family it has bben lovingly restored. It should be remembered that the present owners have no connection with the Donaldson-Hudson family who owned the vehicle in the 1940's before nationalisation of the road freight industry.
